Healthcare professionals in Petaluma now have a smarter way to complete American Heart Association® BLS, ACLS, and PALS training—without rearranging their entire schedule. Safety Training Seminars, located at 921 Transport Way, Suite 30 in the McDowell Business Center, offers Self-Guided Learning™ courses that combine self-paced online learning with an independent, hands-on skills session at a CPR Verification Station™ learning center.
No fixed class times. No waiting for an instructor to be available. Just flexible, high-quality training built around your life.
Self-Guided Learning™ is an American Heart Association course format that lets learners complete two components independently:
Upon successful completion of both components, learners receive an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard for BLS, ACLS, or PALS.
This approach suits nurses, doctors, EMTs, paramedics, and medical students who need American Heart Association training for employment or licensure—but can’t always commit to a scheduled classroom session.
The online portion uses True Adaptive™ learning powered by Area9 Lyceum. This technology continuously assesses your knowledge and confidence, then adjusts your learning path in real time. Spend less time on content you already know. Focus more on the areas where you need improvement.
The result: a personalized, efficient learning experience that aligns with the latest American Heart Association guidelines. You can complete it from home, a break room at Petaluma Valley Hospital (400 N McDowell Blvd), or anywhere with a compatible device.
Once you finish the online learning activity, you schedule your self-guided skills session at the CPR Verification Station learning center at Safety Training Seminars’ Petaluma office. During this session, you perform required psychomotor skills independently using a Voice-Assisted Manikin.
The station provides real-time, objective performance feedback on:
There is no instructor present. The CPR Verification Station learning center objectively measures your performance against AHA-defined criteria. You can repeat the skills activity as many times as needed to achieve a passing score.
Upon successful completion of both components, your American Heart Association Course Completion eCard is issued the same day.
Safety Training Seminars offers three Self-Guided Learning courses for healthcare professionals:
All three courses follow the latest 2025 American Heart Association guidelines and result in an official American Heart Association Course Completion eCard.
Petaluma’s medical community—including staff at Petaluma Valley Hospital and Kaiser Permanente Petaluma Medical Offices (3900 Lakeville Hwy)—depends on current, verified American Heart Association training. Coordinating group classroom sessions around shift schedules isn’t always realistic.
Self-Guided Learning courses solve that problem. Key benefits include:
The Safety Training Seminars Petaluma office sits just a 2-minute drive from Petaluma Valley Hospital. Head down Professional Drive, turn right onto N McDowell Blvd, then left onto Transport Way—you’re there.
Self-Guided Learning™ courses give Petaluma healthcare professionals a training option that respects their time and meets American Heart Association standards. Study online at your own pace. Complete your self-guided skills session locally. Receive your American Heart Association Course Completion eCard the same day.

I like the quiet room and free cpr bag I experienced great customer servicePosted on Diane DemsherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Renewal course completed with ease. Help was always available with frequent text and emails which I didn't need but appreciated.Posted on Craig HamleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Testing is straightforward and fast. Precious users left the computers signed on and could have had personal information stolen. If someone doesn't log out of their account the computer should log them out automatically a certain number of minutes after their scheduled time has expired. Also the room was stuffy and uncomfortably warm to be doing chest compressions.Posted on Daniel EsquivelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. BikiniPosted on MaryEllen KingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Paid $10 for laminated card and never received. Emailed and called and spoke to ‘someone’ who said it would be sent. It’s been three weeks and still no card. Don’t waste the money. Horrible customer servicePosted on Christina RhotenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I think it was fine, but coming into a room alone, the instructor being on the computer wasn't loud & was semi rude so I dont believe I'd recommend nor take this class again.Posted on Peace & NamasteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The class was fine, instructor clear and nice, it was interesting in the digital age where you go into a room with the CPR dummies and the teacher connects with you via zoom. I didn’t give 5 stars because scheduling the class was aggravating and difficult, and i’m still waiting on my $40 reimbursement, which didn’t come like they said it would…. 1) I needed adult cpr ($89) and selected it, at the bottom of the screen they offered a $40 upgrade to include infant cpr. When i selected it, they sent me only the pediatric one! I was no longer in the adult one. So i had to call a few times to have it reversed. I’m STILL waiting in reimbursement for the $40. The rep said she would email me confirmation the next day…no email. 2) The person on the phone was nice but kept talking over me. Each time I spoke, that is when she would start talking. I don’t know what that is about but it seems to be some tactic of here, i dunno. So it took much longer to simply get it reversed so I can get the needed Adult CPR class. 3) She also said ther wasn’t a video to watch for Adult cpr when the ad said there was, even after telling her several times I’m reading that there is an at home portion. Finally I said it’s ridiculous that someone would send me to a CPR skills class and tell me nothing about CPR beforehand, when it says in their ad that there is an online/at home portion to complete before the class begins & I would like to speak to her manager. That is when she said there is a video to watch. OMG, Sooo aggravating. 4) Plus, even though I registered early, it took the until the end of the workday to send me the link to watch the videos at home, which was difficult since i couldn’t start into 8pm. I had the skills test the next day and had to work, so this was a challenge. The class itself was sort of fun and fairly easy and positive. The class was a 5 stars, but the hassle to book it was a 2 stars, so I will give a GENEROUS 4 stars. Frankly, I wasn’t going to leave a review so as not to complain, at but they keep asking for one. so here it is.
